Manistee’s Premium Dog Boarding and Kennels: A Clean, Professional Doggy Daycare

When we dreamt of the idea of having high end canine boarding at our equestrian center we wanted to share a quality of service that was unforgettable and unmatched. We love our furry friends and we didn’t want to be just another dog kennel

It can be hard enough leaving our four legged family members with strangers so we created an excellent environment and hired caring and attentive staff to deliver the cleanest, most friendly and most professional dog boarding and kennel experience around.

Our state of the art, heated facility has a strapping 27 kennels for long term boarding, short term pet sitting and we even offer in-stay grooming for our shaggy, friends. The closest thing you'll find to a premium country hotel for your dog, West Wind Stables offers numerous, spacious loft style private suites. As always, they will receive loving, attentive care throughout their entire stay.

What can you expect from us during doggy day care?

You may be wondering if your pup will be alone or playing with other dogs in the play kennel. The answer is both:

Routine rest time during your dog's stay is not only important to the health of your pet, but also for the safety of the entire pack. Resting refers to the downtime in between playtimes during doggy day care. This gives your pet a chance to recuperate so they do not wear themselves before they go home, which is especially important for our full-day guests. Also, resting and downtime significantly decreases the chances of injuries within the pack. Just like with humans, rest allows for the tears in their muscles from exercising and working hard to play to repair and become stronger.

We take the safety of our pets and staff very seriously. Resting is an important part of our safety guidelines, including temperament tests and dividing our daycare pups into playgroups based on their personality, temperament and size.

It’s been proven that proper socialization with other dogs and other humans is critical to having a happy, healthy, and well-adjusted canine family member. If you are someone who has spent considerable time at home and how you have a life change, your furry family member may now be home alone for long periods of the day for the first time in a while. What we typically do not see is the stress of solitude except in destructive habits such as chewing on household items, persistent digging, excessive barking and more.

A lot of times this is caused by separation anxiety. Dogs may also show signs of stress such as drooling, attempts to escape, and pacing.

If your canine is suffering from separation anxiety or is simply bored of home isolation bring them to our doggy daycare!

Doggy Daycare provides your loved one with the pack environment they need, and it helps create a trusted second home for your puppy while you are away. We promise to do our best to give your pup a daycare that provides all the physical, mental, and social exercise your dog needs.
